Inside the Newly Reopened Hotel Danieli Venice: A First Look at the Four Seasons Presidential Suite

An iconic Venetian landmark enters a new chapter, and I had the opportunity to explore its newly reimagined rooms and extraordinary Presidential Suite firsthand.

Some hotels are simply places to stay. Others are part of a destination’s history.

Hotel Danieli has long been one of Venice’s most recognizable addresses, and on July 30, 2026, the legendary property officially reopened as Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel, introducing a new era of luxury hospitality to the historic Venetian palazzo.

During my recent visit to Venice, I had the opportunity to tour the newly renovated property, explore its accommodations, and step inside one of its most remarkable additions: the Presidential Suite.

And there’s an interesting story behind how this particular space came to be.

A Venetian Icon, Reimagined

Located along the Riva degli Schiavoni, just steps from St. Mark’s Square, Hotel Danieli occupies three interconnected historic buildings, including Palazzo Dandolo, a magnificent Venetian Gothic palace dating back to 1471.

The transformation, led by renowned French interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, brings contemporary comfort into a setting rich with centuries of Venetian history.

The restoration celebrates the city’s craftsmanship through Murano glass, Italian marble, Venetian terrazzo, and bespoke textiles by historic Venetian fabric house Rubelli.

Soft blues, celadon greens, warm terracotta, and muted golden tones take inspiration from the lagoon and the surrounding architecture.

The result is a thoughtful balance between old-world Venetian grandeur and the understated sophistication associated with Four Seasons.

Inside the New Presidential Suite

One of the highlights of my visit was touring the hotel’s Presidential Suite, located on the fourth and top floor of Palazzo Dandolo.

Spanning an impressive 133 square metres (1,432 square feet), this one-bedroom suite feels more like an elegant private residence than a traditional hotel accommodation.

Designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon, the suite features a spacious living room, a dining area seating six, a separate guest powder room, a king bedroom, and a beautiful marble bathroom with double vanities, a soaking tub, and a walk-in shower.

But the most extraordinary feature is undoubtedly the view.

From its elevated position, the suite looks directly across the Venetian Lagoon toward San Giorgio Maggiore, offering one of those unforgettable perspectives that make Venice unlike anywhere else.

The generous windows bring natural light into the living spaces, allowing the city itself to become part of the experience.

The Story Behind the Suite

Here’s a detail I found particularly interesting during my private tour.

I learned that the hotel had originally considered transforming this upper-floor space into a bistro.

Instead, the decision was made to create the Presidential Suite, turning an exceptional location into an intimate, residential-style accommodation.

After seeing the views firsthand, I can understand why.

What might have become a beautiful dining space is now a private retreat where guests can enjoy the Venetian Lagoon from the comfort of their own suite.

It’s the kind of behind-the-scenes detail I love discovering during hotel inspections, and one that makes a property even more memorable.

The Details That Make a Difference

Beyond its impressive dimensions, the newly renovated accommodations reflect a strong attention to craftsmanship and comfort.

Bespoke Rubelli textiles add a distinctly Venetian touch to the interiors, while custom bedding, a pillow menu, and down duvets provide the comfort expected of a Four Seasons stay.

Even the technology has been integrated discreetly, with automated curtains, personalized lighting controls, and televisions incorporated into the room design rather than dominating it.

The Presidential Suite’s marble bathroom also features a wall of windows, bringing light into a space that feels both elegant and indulgent.

For me, it’s these thoughtful details that elevate a beautiful hotel into a truly exceptional experience.

Is Hotel Danieli Right for Your Venice Stay?

With its historic setting, waterfront location, and newly reimagined accommodations, Danieli is particularly appealing to travelers looking for a memorable luxury stay in Venice.

It’s an excellent property to consider for romantic escapes, milestone celebrations, honeymoons, and travelers who appreciate historic architecture paired with contemporary comfort.

Room selection matters here. Views vary between the lagoon, canals, and Venetian rooftops, and the differences between categories can meaningfully shape your stay.

That’s one reason I value personally inspecting properties: photographs and room descriptions only tell part of the story.
